Getting Started

This guide recommends library databases and other resources which will help you to complete your research assignment for SOC 201.

Databases

The following library databases are excellent resources for finding journal articles containing reports of sociological research studies (original research). Remember to look out for the terminology and features typically found in these reports: Method; Sample; Charts & Graphs; Results; Discussion; and References.

Journals

You may prefer to find your articles from one of the specific sociology journal titles listed below. Full-text information is available for each title. You may choose to browse tables of contents for specific issues, or you may choose to "search within this publication (EBSCO databases)" or "search for articles within the publication (ProQuest)."

View a tutorial called "Finding scholarly journal articles in specific sociology journal titles."
